Welcome to Atelier Stories, a platform that features inspiring artists and their creative journeys. Our aim is to showcase the talent, passion, and creativity of these women and provide a platform for them to share their stories, inspirations, and creative processes with the world. Meet Rochelle, our first featured artist as she shares her passion and artistic process with us.
"Growing up, my father would tell me the most amazing bedtime stories. Stories of talking animals such as polar bears, chameleons, dogs, and penguins. He'd also narrate tales of talking objects like paper clips, socks, house doors, and windows. These stories would feature kids who became spies, superheroes, explorers, scientists, and more. I vividly remember how my imagination would expand and come to life with the adventurous words that flowed from my dad's mouth.”
“Visual arts, animation, and filmmaking became my passion since my early childhood days, and with it, my desire to become an illustrator. Nowadays, I aspire to illustrate stories like the ones my dad told me until I fell asleep. I want to help both children and adults experience the same magic that still dances in my mind. 💙”
“My creative process involves choosing individuals with unique characteristics and digitally portraying them, much like I did when I was younger. These days, I enjoy adapting the color palette of my character illustrations to match the colors that my references radiate. I believe that people's personalities emit colors, and I love interpreting that in my art.”
We hope that Rochelle's story inspires you as much as it has inspired us, and we look forward to sharing more incredible stories of women artists with you in the future.
